Dedication of the Luis Alfonso Velasquez Flores After School Program, a 9 year-old Nicaraguan assassinated in 1979 for political reasons, whose work has become an inspiration to the children in our program. His message of solidarity, self-assurance, self-worth, community involvement, social equality, equal opportunity, fairness, camaraderie and hope struck a chord with our students and teachers.
