Gracias Comcast!!!

The Comcast Foundations Comcast Reading Network has awarded $25,000 to El Centro de la Raza's Hope for Youth Poetry Program. Through support of local reading initiatives, the Comast Reading Network is a company-wide effort dedicated to advancing literacy levels and reading skills in Comcast communities.

Poetry classes are held twice a week and result in an enhanced vocabulary and improved critical analysis skills, reading comprehension and poetry education. Through this program students ages 10 - 18 develop a positive identity, healthy value system, social competencies and a commitment to learning.

Comcast and El Centro de la Raza share the belief that it is essential for young people to maintain basic literacy and reading skills in order to benefit from advances in technology. Hope for Youth accomplishes that and much more. Mil Gracias Comcast for investing in these results!
