El Día de Los Muertos Volunteer Opportunities
For November 1-21, 2006
These volunteer opportunities are the perfect way to get involved in the community if you are interested in getting involved at El Centro de la Raza, even if you don't have much time on your hands. If you’re an individual who is interested in multiculturalism and particularly, Latin American holiday and traditions, please join us in putting on our annual event, El Día de los Muertos. The holiday will be celebrated through a 21-day exhibition of multicultural, social justice ofrendas or altars to honor the dead.
Volunteers are needed during the opening night ceremony for:

· Exhibition Set up
· Helping to facilitate art workshops.
· Event break down and clean up
During the 21-day exhibition we will also need volunteers to:
· Work as a tour guide of the ofrendas. (Volunteer guides must verse themselves in the history and traditions of the holiday to relay the information to visiting guests and student groups. reading materials will be made available)
Art Workshop: October 25th
Set up: October 29th
Opening Ceremony: November 1st
Exhibition Tours: November 2nd- 21st
Break down and clean up: November 24thst
Volunteers should be dependable and have effective communication.
No prior experience volunteering is necessary.
