Citizenship Class Tutors:
For those people who are looking for a rewarding volunteering experience with helping legal, permanent residents prepare for their interview with Immigration & Naturalization Services to obtain U.S. Citizenship, we have a great program for you. We are looking for tutors for our Citizenship classes. Summary of critical information:
- Attend at least one of the two classes each week, on Tuesday and Thursday, 5:30pm - 7:30pm.
- Three-month commitment is required.
- Must meet with Citizenship Coordinator to discuss the program and its material.
- Tutors should be dependable, patient, have effective communication and tutoring skills, and have the ability and desire to motivate individuals to improve their skills.
- Tutors must take a tour of El Centro de la Raza, watch a citizenship video, observe one full class, and must be able to study a list of civic questions and answer them prior to participating.
- Spanish is not required, but it is very helpful.
